2 DIN Android Car Stereos and Head Units – what you need to know

The 2 DIN Android car stereo is the most widespread universal size: it fits the 178×100 mm double-DIN radio aperture found in most cars built after 2000. Our range includes 7-, 9-, 10- and 10.1-inch touchscreen versions – all of them a full CarPlay radio and Android Auto radio: wireless mirroring, built-in GPS navigation (Google Maps, Waze), Bluetooth hands-free calling, WiFi, USB and a multi-language menu. If we do not have a model-specific unit for your car, a 2 DIN Android radio is the right choice: with a matching mounting frame and the CAN-bus adapter available for most cars, the steering wheel controls can be retained too. The units have a reversing camera input – you will find the matching FullHD camera in the Universal reversing camera category, so you can build a car stereo with reversing camera setup. The audio side is covered too: an amplifier and a subwoofer can be connected to the head unit through the RCA outputs. Frequently asked questions

What is the 2 DIN size?

DIN is the standard size of the radio aperture: 1 DIN is 178x50 mm and 2 DIN (double DIN) is 178x100 mm. Most cars built after 2000 have a 2 DIN aperture - these head units fit there.

Will it fit my car?

If your car has a 2 DIN radio aperture (or the current 2 DIN radio can be taken out), yes. Send us the model and the model year: we will tell you whether a mounting frame or an adapter is needed - and also whether we have a model-specific unit for it.

Are the steering wheel controls retained?

On most cars they can be set up; some models need a CAN-bus decoder - send us the model and we will put the kit together.

Should I choose a universal or a model-specific head unit?

If we have a model-specific unit for your model (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Opel...), we recommend that - it goes into the original position with a frame made for the model. If we do not, the universal 2 DIN is the right choice.
