Rover 75 and MG ZT Android head units – what you need to know
The Rover 75 is a product of the BMW era: it was developed while the Rover Group was owned by the Munich company, and that shows in the quality of the build, the wiring and the design of the dashboard. That is exactly why fitting an Android head unit to a 75 is a more civilised job than on many cars of the period: thanks to the wiring loom made for the factory connectors, not a single original wire has to be cut, and the whole operation is reversible – which on a well-preserved 75 is no small thing from a collector's point of view either.
The most important thing to know: the MG ZT and the MG ZT-T estate are the same car. A sportier suspension, different bumpers, a different badge – but EXACTLY the same dashboard. If you have an MG ZT, this unit is for you too. The same applies to the Rover 75 Tourer estate. What does NOT work: the Rover 25 and the Rover 45 were given a completely different, earlier Honda-based interior, and this head unit does not fit those.
A characteristic feature of the 75's interior is the wood-trimmed centre console. Several variations of it were made depending on the model year and the specification, so before ordering it is worth sending a photograph of the area around the radio – that way we will certainly send the right frame.
The unit runs Android: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free calling, online navigation (Waze, Google Maps), radio, USB and a reversing camera input. The factory steering wheel buttons keep working with the supplied adapter.

Can it be fitted to an MG ZT?
Yes. The MG ZT and the MG ZT-T are the same car as the Rover 75, with an identical dashboard - this same unit fits them. The Rover 75 Tourer estate takes the same head unit too.
Is it right for the Rover 25 or the Rover 45?
No. The 25 and the 45 were given a different, earlier, Honda-based interior, and their dashboards differ from the 75's. This head unit does not fit those two models.
Is the installation reversible?
Yes. The unit connects with a wiring loom made for the factory connectors, and not a single original wire has to be cut. If you want to restore the factory radio later, that can be done at any time.
What about the wood-trimmed centre console?
Several console variations were made for the 75 depending on the model year and the specification. Before ordering, send us a photograph of the area around the radio and we will ship the unit with the right frame.
