Chevrolet Aveo Android head units (2006–2015) – what you need to know
The Chevrolet Aveo is one of the most widespread cheap used cars in Hungary, which is exactly why so many people look for a touchscreen head unit for it: in most examples the factory radio is still a CD unit, with no screen and no phone connectivity. It is important to know that there are two completely different Aveos, and their model years overlap. The T250 (2006–2012) is the surviving version of the former Daewoo Kalos: a rounded dashboard, a separate instrument pod and a classic 2 DIN radio aperture. The T300 (2011–2015) was an entirely new car, with a motorcycle-style digital instrument cluster and a differently shaped centre console – so the two units and frames are not interchangeable. If your car is from the transitional years of 2011–2012, a single photo of the dashboard is enough for us to tell you which is right. The Android head units here come with a model-specific frame and a factory-plug wiring loom, so they go in without cutting or drilling, and the steering wheel controls and factory speakers keep working. The units offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free calling, WiFi, Google Maps, Waze and Sygic navigation, Spotify and YouTube, and a reversing camera input. Since Chevrolet withdrew from the European market at the end of 2015, accessories for these cars are increasingly hard to find – with us, though, a complete kit with a multi-language menu and a 2-year warranty is still available for them.

How do I know whether I have a T250 or a T300 Aveo?
The easiest way is by the dashboard. The T250 (2006-2012) has a rounded dashboard with a separate instrument pod; the T300 (2011-2015) was given a motorcycle-style vertical digital instrument cluster. The model years overlap in 2011-2012, because the two models ran in parallel for a while - if you are unsure, send us a photo and we will tell you.
Does the dashboard have to be cut?
No. The kit comes with a frame made for the model and a factory-plug wiring loom, so the unit goes into the factory position without cutting or drilling, and the original radio can be refitted at any time.
Does a frame made for the Daewoo Kalos fit the Aveo?
The T250 Aveo is indeed a developed version of the Daewoo Kalos and the basic dashboard shape is similar, but the vents and the radio frame mounting can differ by model year. Always choose the kit for the model years given here, or ask us with a photo.
Are the steering wheel controls retained?
Yes. The unit comes with a CAN-bus module, so the volume and track buttons on the steering wheel still work after the installation, with a simple learning procedure if needed.
Can a reversing camera be connected?
Yes, every head unit has a camera input and a reverse-signal connection, so the picture appears automatically when you select reverse. If you do not have a camera yet, we also sell one that fits into the number plate light.
