The Kia Rio and the Picanto are the brand's two most sought-after city models, and it is precisely in these that the simple, screenless factory radio survived longest. Which Rio is this unit for?
It was made for the pre-facelift version of the third generation Kia Rio (UB) built between 2011 and 2015. After the 2015 update the shape of the air vents and the radio surround changed, so for such a model year please send us a photo of the dashboard first.
Does the Picanto unit suit every model year?
The advertised kit fits the dashboard of the second generation Picanto (TA, 2011-2017). The 2004-2011 first generation and the post-2017 third generation take a different frame - we can quote for those separately.
Can a unit made for the Hyundai i10 be fitted to a Picanto?
We do not recommend it. The Picanto and the Hyundai i10 are close relatives, but the dashboard and radio aperture are designed differently, so the frame does not fit. The same is true of the Kia Venga and Hyundai ix20 pair: technically the same car, but a different interior.
Are the steering wheel controls and the factory speakers retained?
Yes. The kit comes with a factory-plug wiring loom and a CAN-bus module, so the steering wheel controls and the factory speakers work exactly as before after the installation.
