Chrysler 300C Android head units (2003–2010) – what you need to know
The Chrysler 300C is one of those cars where replacing the radio has a purely technical reason on top of the convenience. A substantial share of the 300Cs running in Hungary are American imports, and the FM band is divided into channels differently in the United States than in Europe: the factory head unit therefore cannot tune precisely to the frequencies of Hungarian stations, the signal crackles and RDS does not display the station name. A European-tuned Android head unit solves that at a stroke – and while it does so you also get up-to-date navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, Bluetooth hands-free calling and a multi-language menu. The Chrysler 300C head unit available from us comes with a 9-inch HD touchscreen and an eight-core processor, with a model-specific frame and a plug-in wiring loom, so nothing has to be cut or soldered and the installation can be reversed at any time. It is worth knowing that the 300C is a product of the DaimlerChrysler era, so its suspension and gearbox are based on solutions from the Mercedes E-Class, but the dashboard is entirely American in design – so a Mercedes frame will certainly not fit it. Does a Mercedes head unit fit, given the shared development?
No. The 300C's suspension and gearbox are indeed based on Mercedes-derived solutions from the DaimlerChrysler era, but the dashboard is entirely American in design, with a different radio aperture. Only a frame made for the 300C fits it.
Can I fit it myself, and what is the warranty?
The kit comes with a plug-in wiring loom, so nothing has to be cut or soldered - with a little manual skill it can be fitted at home. Every head unit carries a 2-year warranty, and we help with the setup by phone as well.
