Mitsubishi Outlander and Lancer Android head units – what you need to know
The Mitsubishi Outlander and the Lancer are close relatives: both are built on the factory's GS platform, and in post-2007 model years the dashboard layout follows a similar logic. That is good news when upgrading the specification, because the Mitsubishi Outlander head unit and the Mitsubishi Lancer head unit kits are put together very similarly: an eight-core processor, a touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, GPS navigation, Bluetooth hands-free calling and a multi-language menu. There is one thing to watch before buying, and that is the generation. The Outlander XL, the second generation, was built between 2006 and 2012, and the third generation from 2012 onwards, and the dashboards of the two cars are completely different. The head unit in our range is therefore for the 2012–2018 third generation, while among the reversing cameras you will also find one that suits the Outlander XL. In the case of the Lancer, think of the long-lived generation built from 2007, which was available with both saloon and Sportback hatchback bodies, and the head unit is the same for both. It is also worth knowing that the Peugeot 4007 and the Citroën C-Crosser were born out of the Outlander XL, since they were built in the same Japanese factory, so their owners can browse this page too. The shared base does not mean the frames are interchangeable, though, so always choose the kit for your own model. Every head unit carries a 2-year warranty, items in stock are posted within one working day, and if you are unsure which to choose, a photo of the dashboard is all it takes.
