Kia Android Head Units – what you need to know
Kia has become one of the most popular brands in Hungary over the past twenty years, and there are particularly many Cee'ds, Sportages, Rios and Picantos on the used market. In the 2006–2018 model years, though, the factory head unit is usually still a simple CD radio: no touchscreen, no navigation, no reversing camera input and no smartphone connectivity. The Android head units here fill exactly those gaps, and they do it in a way that leaves the car's interior looking factory: every kit comes with a model-specific frame and a factory-plug wiring loom, the installation can be done without cutting or drilling, and the steering wheel controls, the factory speakers and in most cases the factory parking sensors keep working. Most Kia models are technical siblings of a Hyundai – the Cee'd (ED) is related to the i30 (FD), the Sportage 3 (SL) to the ix35, the Sorento 2 (XM) to the Santa Fe, the Rio 3 (UB) to the Accent, the Picanto to the i10 and the Venga to the ix20 – but the dashboard and the radio aperture differ between the brands, so a kit with a Hyundai frame cannot be fitted to a Kia, or the other way round. The units offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free calling, WiFi and mobile internet sharing, Google Maps, Waze and Sygic navigation, Spotify, YouTube and Netflix, and a reversing camera input. Every head unit comes with a 2-year warranty, a multi-language menu, customer service in Hungary and fast delivery. Choose from the model groups above, or write to us with your car's model and year and we will tell you which unit is right.
