Hyundai Tucson Android head units are fitted in place of the factory radio with a model-specific frame, so the appearance of the dashboard is unchanged. Our range includes a 10.1-inch version for the Tucson 1 (2004–2009) generation and a 9-inch one for the Tucson 3 (2015–2019) – the generation in between, the Tucson 2, was sold in Europe as the ix35, and our ix35 head unit belongs in that. Every unit supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a full multi-language menu, the Google Play store, Waze, Google Maps and Sygic navigation, Bluetooth hands-free calling, FM/RDS radio, and WiFi and 4G internet. The supplied CAN-BUS adapter keeps the factory steering wheel buttons, the parking sensor warnings and the climate display working, and when you select reverse the system switches automatically to the picture from the factory or aftermarket reversing camera. The units are available at several specification levels – STANDARD, PRO, ELITE and PREMIUM – which differ in processor, memory (from 2+32 GB to 8+128 GB), screen resolution, built-in DSP audio processor and 360-degree camera support. Which head unit belongs in which Tucson generation?
The 10.1-inch version was made for the first generation Tucson built between 2004 and 2009, and the 9-inch one for the 2015-2019 Tucson 3. The model in between, built from 2009 to 2015, was sold in Europe as the ix35, so for that you need our ix35 head unit. If you are unsure, send us a photo of your factory radio and its frame and we will tell you which one fits.
Are the Tucson 2 and the Hyundai ix35 the same car?
Yes. The second generation Tucson launched in 2009 was sold in Europe as the ix35, while other markets kept the Tucson name. It is the same body, the same dashboard and the same radio frame, so the head unit offered for the ix35 can also be fitted to a Tucson 2.
Are the factory steering wheel controls and the reversing camera retained?
Yes. The CAN-BUS adapter supplied in the package keeps the factory steering wheel buttons, the audible and on-screen parking sensor warnings and the climate display working. The factory reversing camera picture is retained, and if the car has no camera one can be fitted later - the head unit switches to it automatically when you select reverse.
Does the factory wiring have to be cut or soldered?
No. The head unit connects to the factory plugs with a model-specific wiring loom, and the frame fits exactly in place of the factory radio. The car's original electrical system does not have to be touched, so the installation is reversible and does not affect the factory warranty.
What is the warranty and can you fit it?
Every head unit comes with a 2-year warranty and a Hungarian invoice. In most cases the installation can be done at home, but if you would rather leave it to a professional, our partner workshops at several locations across Hungary will fit it.
