Chevrolet Android Head Units – what you need to know
Chevrolet was present on the European market between 2005 and 2015, and over those ten years a great many Aveos, Cruzes, Captivas, Sparks and Epicas found owners in Hungary too. The brand withdrew from Europe at the end of 2015, which for owners means that a factory upgrade – navigation, CarPlay, a reversing camera – can no longer be fitted at a dealership. The Android head units here fill exactly that gap: every kit comes with a model-specific frame and a factory-plug wiring loom, so the unit goes into the factory position without cutting or drilling, and the steering wheel controls, the factory speakers and in most cases the parking sensors keep working. It is worth knowing that the overwhelming majority of European Chevrolet models were rebadged South Korean Daewoos: the Aveo succeeded the Daewoo Kalos, the Epica the Daewoo Tosca and the Spark the Daewoo Matiz Creative, while the Cruze shares the Delta II floorpan with the Opel Astra J and the Captiva the Theta platform with the Opel Antara. Shared floorpan or not, the dashboard and the radio aperture differ between the brands, so a frame for an Opel or a Daewoo cannot be fitted to a Chevrolet. The units offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free calling, WiFi and mobile internet sharing, Google Maps, Waze and Sygic navigation, Spotify, YouTube and Netflix, and a reversing camera input. Every head unit comes with a 2-year warranty, a multi-language menu and customer service in Hungary. Choose from the model groups above, or write to us with your car's model and year and we will tell you which unit is right.
