Mazda Android Head Units – what you need to know

TopNAVI's range includes a factory-look Android head unit, car stereo and reversing camera for the most sought-after Mazda models: Mazda 2 (2007–2014), Mazda 3 BK (2002–2009) and Mazda 3 II BL (2009–2013), Mazda 5 (2005–2010), Mazda 6 GG (2002–2008) and Mazda 6 GH (2007–2013), and the CX-7 (2006–2012) – and the Mazda 6 GH reversing camera can also be fitted to the RX-8. The units are fitted in place of the factory radio with a model-specific frame and wiring loom, so the car's interior is left untouched, nothing has to be cut or soldered, and the installation is reversible. Every head unit supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a full multi-language menu, the Google Play store, Waze, Google Maps and Sygic navigation, Bluetooth hands-free calling, FM/RDS radio, and WiFi and 4G internet. The supplied CAN-BUS adapter keeps the factory steering wheel buttons, the audible and on-screen parking sensor warnings and the climate display working, and the factory Bose sound system stays in place, connected with an adapter. The units are available at several specification levels – STANDARD, PRO, ELITE and PREMIUM – which differ in processor, memory (from 2+32 GB to 8+128 GB), screen resolution, built-in DSP audio processor and 360-degree camera support. Frequently asked questions

How do I know which Mazda head unit fits my car?

The choice comes down to the model, the model year and the frame of the factory radio. The Mazda 3 and the Mazda 6 take a separate unit per generation - the BK (2002-2009) and the BL (2009-2013) for the 3, and the GG (2002-2008) and the GH (2007-2013) for the 6 - while the Mazda 2, the Mazda 5 and the CX-7 each come with their own model-specific frame. If you are unsure, send us a photo of your factory radio and we will tell you which is right.

Why are the Mazda 6 and the CX-7 on one page?

Because they are technically related: the Mazda CX-7 built between 2006 and 2012 was based on the platform of the first generation Mazda 6 (GG), and the dashboard layout and radio aperture size are similar too. Even so, not every part is interchangeable, so before ordering it is worth comparing your factory radio surround with the product photo.

Do the Mazda 2 and the Ford Fiesta take the same head unit?

No. The 2007-2014 Mazda 2 (DE) and the Ford Fiesta built at the same time are indeed based on a shared platform developed by Mazda, but the dashboard and the radio mounting frame are completely different in the two cars. So the unit offered for the Mazda 2 does not fit a Fiesta, or the other way round.

Are the factory Bose sound system, the steering wheel controls and the reversing camera retained?

Yes. The factory Bose amplifier stays in place and the head unit connects to it with the appropriate adapter, so you do not lose the factory sound. The CAN-BUS adapter keeps the factory steering wheel buttons, the audible and on-screen parking sensor warnings and the climate display working, and when you select reverse the system switches automatically to the reversing camera picture.

What is the warranty and can I have it fitted by you?

Every head unit and reversing camera comes with a 2-year warranty in accordance with Hungarian law, with an invoice. In most cases the installation can be done at home, because the unit connects to the factory plugs and nothing has to be cut or soldered.
