Kia Cee'd Android head units (2006–2018) – what you need to know
The Kia Cee'd was the first Kia model designed specifically for the European market and built in Zilina, Slovakia – which is why so many of them are still on the road in Hungary. The dashboards of the first generation (ED, 2006–2011) and the second (JD, 2012–2018) are completely different, however, so the two units are not interchangeable: you always have to choose the head unit that matches the model year. The Cee'd ED is technically the sister model of the Hyundai i30 (FD) – same platform, same engines – but the radio aperture is shaped differently, so the Kia-specific frame cannot be left out. The Android head units here go into the factory position with the factory connectors: the steering wheel controls keep working, the factory speakers stay wired in, and in most cases so does the signal from the factory reversing camera or parking sensors. How do I know which head unit fits my car?
The model year decides. The dashboards of the 2006-2011 Cee'd (ED) and the 2012-2018 Cee'd (JD) are completely different, so there are two separate units. If you are unsure, send us a photo of your current radio and the centre of the dashboard and we will tell you which is right.
Are the steering wheel controls retained?
Yes. The units come with a factory-plug wiring loom and a CAN-bus module, so the volume and track buttons on the steering wheel still work after the installation, with a simple learning procedure if needed.
Can a unit made for the Hyundai i30 be fitted to a Cee'd?
No. The Cee'd (ED) and the Hyundai i30 (FD) are indeed built on the same platform, but the dashboard and the radio aperture are shaped differently, so neither the frame nor the wiring loom is interchangeable. Always choose a Kia-specific kit.
Can I fit it myself?

Can a reversing camera be connected to it?
