Toyota Reversing Cameras – what you need to know

Toyota reversing cameras in model-specific versions, with FullHD 1080P resolution. The camera fits in place of the factory number plate light or the factory boot release, so there is no need for drilling or a separate bracket.

Currently a camera is available for the Toyota Corolla (2007–2013) with a 58×37 mm aperture, for the other version of the Toyota Corolla in 56×29 mm, for the Toyota Yaris 2 (2005–2011), and for the Toyota Hilux with a chrome release handle. Checking the size matters especially on the Corolla: two different aperture sizes belong to the same model name, so before ordering, measure the aperture of the factory number plate light and choose the product on that basis.

Every Toyota reversing camera has a standard RCA video output, so it works with all of our Android car stereo head units: when you select reverse, the picture appears automatically on the screen with guide lines. An RCA video cable is needed to connect them, available in 6, 8, 10, 15 and 20 metre lengths under Accessories. Our products carry a 2-year warranty.

Why are there two cameras for the Corolla?

Because different versions of the Corolla were given factory number plate lights with different aperture sizes: one is 58x37 mm, the other 56x29 mm. It is worth measuring the aperture of the factory housing before ordering.

What does 'Hilux with chrome release handle' mean?

On this version the camera is built into the factory chrome boot release, so the rear of the Hilux keeps its factory look.

Does the installation require drilling?

No. The model-specific Toyota reversing camera goes in place of the factory number plate light or the factory release handle, so the bumper and the bodywork do not have to be taken apart.

What cable does it need and what is the warranty?

An RCA video cable is needed between the camera and the head unit, available in 6, 8, 10, 15 or 20 metre lengths under Accessories. Every camera comes with a 2-year warranty, and for the installation you should get in touch with our recommended installer partners on the Workshops page.
